ORGL 605 - Imagine, Create, Lead
My first on-campus immersion

ORGL 651 - Advanced Team Building & Leadership
My last on-campus immersion

When I began the ORGL program, feelings of imposter syndrome had me questioning what kind of leader I could be. I questioned my experiences, my knowledge, and my ability to make a meaningful contribution. But through the program’s transformative journey, I’ve come to embrace my unique strengths, honor my experiences, and recognize that leadership isn’t about perfection, but about continuous growth and learning. I now confidently embrace who I am as a leader – a work in progress – always striving to improve and evolve.

ORGL 600: Foundations of Leadership

It’s important for leaders to understand how they come off to others and how they need to balance what they do with how they do it. This course gave us an opportunity to identify what we wanted and did not want to be as a leader which we articulated in a philosophy of leadership statement.

ORGL 610: Communication & Leadership Ethics

This class underscored the importance of dialogue, the difficulty in determining what constitutes the “greater good,” and how considering multiple perspectives expands our understanding of ethical dilemmas and enables us to come up with additional potential solutions.

ORGL 605: Imagine, Create, Lead

We learned the importance of infusing creativity into our authentic approach as leaders and also how we can coach and serve others.

This was my first immersion experience on campus. Getting out into the community was one of my favorite aspects of the immersion, reinvigorating my commitment to serve my community.

ORGL 516: Relational Dynamics & Organizational Development

We got to deep dive into the importance of creating a psychologically-safe space, managing the human side of change, and how stories can help us exemplify the type of culture we wish to create. I assessed my strengths and areas of opportunities and the type of change agent I envisioned being.

ORGL 523: Leadership, Justice & Forgiveness

"Self-responsibility requires an honest examination of one’s personal role in contributing to conflict, and to its potential resolution.” ~Rakiya Farah

This class was not what I thought it would be. It changed my perspective about justice and forgiveness and allowed me to reconcile with some hurtful events from my past. Due to the personal nature of my artifact, I am electing not to link it here.

ORGL 681: Leadership & Storytelling

"Stories are a communal currency of humanity."

~Tahir Shah

I learned the power of storytelling and how it can be used to to create meaningful connections with others. Now, I look at how I can use the power of storytelling in my everyday interactions to bridge gaps and gain closeness. Due to the personal nature of my artifact, I am electing not to link it here.

ORGL 615: Organizational Theory & Behavior

In this collaborative, team-based class, my team conquered Mt. Everest successfully and conducted an extensive analysis on a fictitious company looking to increase its market share. I learned a lot about conflict, team dynamics, team communication, the importance of sharing information, and the importance of building trust early on.

ORGL 550: Team Building & Leadership

This class was a nice way to put a finishing touch on all of the learnings in the ORGL program – but most importantly the need to create trust, a sense of belonging, and a psychologically safe space to enable teams to perform at their best. Due to the personal nature of my artifact, I am electing not to link it here.

ORGL 551: Advanced Team Building & Leadership

This class afforded us the opportunity to practice our facilitation skills by leading an icebreaker and problem solving exercise in a small group setting, followed by

building out an agenda for a leadership and teambuilding retreat for our own organizations.

The culmination of my ORGL journey was ORGL 620: Leadership Seminar. This class offered an opportunity for deep reflection and appreciation of my leadership journey. My final project can be found in the 'Conquering Conflict Workshop' section.
